Introduction
Welcome to "Caring for Patients with Chronic Pain" an on-line educational program for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and the team of professionals working with them. This program was developed by Dr. Art Wineman, Assistant Medical Director for HealthPartners Medical Group in collaboration with HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education. It presents five tools designed to make care more effective and the care experience more satisfying for both patient and clinician. This program consists of voice and power point slides divided into 5 modules taking approximately 60 minutes in all to complete.
Technical Requirements
This learning activity is designed for optimal use with Internet Explorer or Netscape version 4.5 or higher and runs on the Windows Media Player program. To view the program, you will need to have speakers on your computer or a set of standard headphones.
How to Run the Program
To begin the program, open the link below titled Chronic Pain Modules and click on the module you wish to view. You can adjust the volume on your speakers, on your desktop or at the bottom of the Windows Media Player Screen. The program will run on its own and can be paused, advanced or reversed by using the available navigation tools just below your screen. You will need to close the window and return to the menu and begin the next module.
Closing Out of Modules
Close out of the Introduction and each Module by clicking on the “x” in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
You will be returned to the menu where you can select the next module.
